This morning I woke up and looked out the window of my
bedroom onto a dream of early morning fog over the dry bed of our lake. I’ve
mourned the loss of water in it, the beauty of the reflecting sunrises and
sunsets, the birds that come to feed, the wild aspect of life on a lake. And
now, later, after I’ve been reading through some of the blogs on this challenge,
I find that there really isn’t anything to mourn. Yes, I’d like more water
again in the lake. But while there isn’t any water, there is still beauty. Nature
is still being nurtured and fed here and so is my soul. My writer’s soul finds
peace when I look out this window and behold whatever new change might have occurred
since the last time I looked.
I realized while reading different blogs that we are all like the window and the lake. We change with the seasons, with the weather, with life in general and our experiences, and each change brings new perspective. I’m SO glad I’m doing this blog challenge. I am learning something new each and every day.

Enjoyed your introspect of us as windows. Envied your morning view. A window that looked out on a view like that would make me happy. Lake or not.

Happy A to Z-ing!
Thanks Jenn, I DO love having this view, water or not. It's inspiring to see how nature adapts. Thanks for the comment and the visit! Happy A to Z-ing to you too!
DeleteI enjoyed your wonderful way of writing. It was like a breath of fresh air.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by and lovely comment and joining my followers. Much appreciated.
Yvonne.
The shot of your lake is beautiful, even without the water. Does your lake come and go with the rain?
ReplyDeleteI'm following, btw. I love this A-Z Challenge. :)
Yes it does come and go with the rainfall. There are a few little springs that help, but not enough when the rain is sparse. Thanks so much for following!
DeletePS - This may be a foolish question. What's the difference between joining the site and following through networked blogs? (I'm new to blogging)
ReplyDeleteJanyce, I'm not totally sure, but I think it's just two different ways of following a blog? I'll check it out and see if I can figure it out!
