Isabelle, our French cousin, as we entered the Sunshine State |
Yee Ha! The day has arrived when we, those of us who are
revealing our theme for the A to Z Blogging Challenge, announce to the world
what our subject will be every day (Sundays excepted) in April. Last year my theme was “What I Love About
France” and going with the travel theme, I decided to write about another place
close to my heart (though you might not think it as exotic as France until
after you read the upcoming posts), one I don’t think a lot of people “dream”
about as a destination for adventure. But you might find—if you read my blog
this April—that this destination has more to offer than you ever dreamed of. I
will post things I love about this place, and things I can do without, but all
will be informative and FUN to read. Come on, trust me.

Canaveral National Seashore |
Without further ado, I introduce to you the
northern environs of the “Sunshine”
state, Florida. North Florida is a completely different animal from the regions
below Orlando. I won’t write about Disney or manmade water/amusement parks. I
will write about history, wildlife, mysteries, funny and sad stories,
motorcycles, fresh water springs, old plantation ruins, race cars, ancient
trees, beaches and restaurants. Hopefully, by the end of April, you will come
away with a perspective of North Florida that will have you planning your next
vacation itinerary…

Hi Lisa - I loved your French A-Z .. that was such a treat to read the various entries. This sounds a good idea too - history, education and fun combined .. looking forward to it .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteFun. My MIL lives in Florida and I don't know that much about it . . . yet. I am doing a similar theme (which I reveled today too.) Glad to be part of your team.
ReplyDeleteHere we go! I'll be checking in to read your posts, Lisa. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds a very interesting topic Lisa. Looking forward to it. Me it's culinary as usual. Food, food and food.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fascinating theme. I've been to Florida once, but it was Orlando (yes, we went to Disney ;)) so nothing to do with what you're going to be blogging about. See you in April.

Sounds good -- I can do North Florida with you. Somehow I inherited all the funeral stuff from my grandparents (sympathy cards, flower cards, guest book), so I'll be looking at "Who came to the funeral?"
ReplyDeleteNorthern Florida - that will be refreshing! Like the theme.
ReplyDeleteHistory, mysteries, old ruins, and ancient trees? Now that sounds like a Florida I'd be interested in visiting. Great theme . . . looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great. I enjoy reading about places, their histories and mysteries! Welcome to the next blogging challenge!

Which direction we are going!
HOLLYWOOD NUTS!
Sounds like a fun theme! And if by racecars you mean Daytona, my son would be there in a heartbeat. He lives and breathes NASCAR. Looking forward to April!
ReplyDeleteGreat topic! Have fun with it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, to share the unknown Florida. I like discovering places away from the usual tourist areas.
ReplyDeleteI live in Florida, but I haven't been to North Florida other than to go to a couple theme parks, so this will be a fun theme for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to learn about so many places I want to visit. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteHi. I meant to leave a comment here earlier, not sure if it went through. I love reading about the histories and mysteries of a place. Good luck on the Challenge!

Florida sounds great just about now. I want to visit your France posts too.

Your theme last year struck a chord with me, as I live in France. This year? Suffice to say that my son lives in Florida (Deltona) and we visit whenever we can afford the trans-atlantic flights. I'm hooked already.
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea! I love it. I may have found an idea for my theme next year. ;)

Sounds like fun! We lived in Palatka for a construction job when my now-grown kids were quite small, so your April posts will be a trip back for me.

Fla is a beautiful state. I've enjoyed visiting there several times, so I think a native's view of her state will be very interesting. Hope you found my review for 7th Man. Really enjoyed reading your book. Congrats on creating a page turner.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI can remember reading some of your French A to Z posts last year... really informative with beautiful photos!
This sounds like another fun and educational theme!
See you around on the A to Z circuit!
Hi, Lisa,
ReplyDeleteHere from the A-Z this time. Every place has its romance! Sounds like a fun theme. Look forward to your posts.
Best wishes for a great A-Z,

Hi, Lisa,
ReplyDeleteWe'll all know a lot more about Florida by the time we get to the end of the month!
I didn't know there was a North Florida -- should make for an intriguing series of posts.
ReplyDeleteSo much looking forward to reading about this less known part of the state. Got to visit in the summer and fell in love with the area and its people too. Found them friendly and kind. The North Coast won my French heart. Funny to read that you wrote about France last year. I will post French idiomatic expressions and their American equivalent for this year challenge.

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your posts about the North Coast, which I also find truly gorgeous and so unlike what I had in mind before visiting this summer.
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward to your A to Z posts as we're currently traveling around Florida! Some of the best experiences we've had so far were on the Emerald Coast.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful subject for the A to Z Challenge - we live in central Florida, which again is so different from the Northern region, so that will be an interesting read. I know I will be back, blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting the AtoZ. It's my 4th challenge! Thanks
