Just for fun, welcome to a new kind of blog fest,
thanks to Sarah Foster at the Faux Fountain Pen! To meet more Muses/Characters
and their partners, click on the Faux Fountain link…
1. Who is your muse (or character)?
Tell us a little bit about him/her and why you brought them.
Pern, and Ruth |
My muse likes to play around with her name. Sometimes it’s
Pooh, because we both love him and she likes to steal other people’s names. Sometimes
it’s Charlotte after our favorite spider. Sometimes it’s Pern because that’s
the name of one of our favorite (literary) planets and is always an inspiration
to both of us. Sometimes it’s Ruth, because it was my grandmother’s name, and
the name of the only white dragon on Pern and we both have a soft spot for those
two.
2. What are you guys wearing?
Dressing up or keeping it casual?
Well, Pern, or Pooh, says her favorite attire is long and most-times
white, resembling a Greek goddess robe with gold trinkets to finish the look. I’ll
be wearing a sleeveless long white-to-pink sun dress because this time of year,
it’s just too hot to wear pants!
Yum, confit de canard! |
3. It's a potluck! Did you bring
something yummy?
My fav! Charlotte suggested we bring Confit de Canard with Pommes
Frites, as she knows it’s my favorite meal of all time. This is duck marinated in
its own fat for a long time, served with very thin “French” fries. We figured
someone else would bring a salad!
4. Open bar! What are you both
drinking (booze or otherwise)?
Bubbly is a must |
Open bar! Ruth and I will have champagne, thank
you, to celebrate this wonderful festive idea. Plus, I know my muse and her
drink of preference is champagne. I’ve heard a lot of muses like champagne…
5. Wallflowers or social
butterflies?
Pooh is much more social than I am, but I get by. I don’t
like to let myself be too introverted at special activities, and Pooh is good
at reminding me to “let myself go” especially when she knows I’ll be meeting
new and interesting people.
6. What song(s) will you and your
muse sing for karaoke?
Oh, I think we will be sappy and sing “I Hope You Dance,”
and then perhaps something more upbeat, like Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s All
Right.” I assume there will be dancing?
7. What's your favorite party game?
That’s an easy one. Twister, though if we’re going to play
games, I might have to re-think the long dress idea...
What fun... |
8. Which one of you is more likely
to end up dancing on a table top?
Me, I think. Well, then again my muse might beat me too it
as she’s even more of an alcohol wimp than I am.
9. Has your muse been a good date and would you ever hang out with them again?
9. Has your muse been a good date and would you ever hang out with them again?
Yes, Pern is always amazing. But I expect nothing less. I
can’t believe the things she comes up with sometimes, but they are almost
always just what I need to hear/see/understand. I like having my muse around,
which is good because I’d be lost without her and her imagination…
Thanks Sarah, for throwing this “Muse Fest” and inviting us to
come.

Your muse sounds great. And I totally should have brought champagne too. :-)
ReplyDeleteIf someone gets Twister out, I'm volunteering to handle the spinner. It was a good game to teach my kids left from right though!
ReplyDeleteI love that your muse changes names. That means she can change into whatever muse you need her to be. I think your muse and my muse could be good friends. :)
ReplyDeleteTwister - now that will make the party really interesting. And distract everyone while I consume all of the Confit de Canard with Pommes Frites.
ReplyDeleteI've actually never tried duck! I'd hope there would be dancing and not just all of us staring awkwardly at each other...
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to my party!
You're muse sounds cool. I like your clothing choices too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit hard to tell with his mouth that full, but I think Will Scarlet is complimenting the dish you and Pooh/Charlotte/Pern/Ruth brought to pass. X)
ReplyDeleteI'll take a glass of champagne, but I think Patricia and I will just watch when you all play Twister. She's too dignified and I'm too clumsy.
ReplyDeleteNow I wish I was a writer so I could beat Alex to the Confit de Canard and Pommes Frîtes. I love Ruth and Pern, some of my favourites. Can't beat Pooh either and I loved Charlotte with her web. What makes me think we have similar tastes Lisa? Did you realise my email is one of the Queen Dragons from Pern.
ReplyDeleteYes I did Jo!!! One of the many reasons I love you!!! Glad we have similar tastes, great minds and all that!
DeleteThat was a lot of fun Lisa. I think Dragon Riders of Pern was my first fantasy love. Lessa is my alter ego :)
ReplyDeleteAww, this is so fun! Totally down with I Hope You Dance (my best friend/cousin's favorite song) and YES Twister! You're going down ;)
ReplyDeleteAs a writer, I am more an observer than partier -- and my drinks are all non-alcoholic since I get into enough trouble sober! My Sidhe muse, as a fallen angel, does not play well with others! And all the games she plays are deadly!
ReplyDeleteI need to find some of that confit de canard. That just looks amazing :D
ReplyDeleteYou should come here if you're too hot - it's been rainy and chilly for three weeks. Got up to 68 today and everyone was outside like, 'what is that giant ball of fire in the sky??'
Pern sounds like a lovely, polite party guest. And I'd love to try this dish of yours! Too bad you can't taste virtual food.
ReplyDeletePooh/Pern sounds like a lot of fun! The first time I was introduced to Pern was at school. Getting to read about dragons was the highlight of the day! =)
ReplyDeleteNice to meet the gang and get to know you a little better. Party on, dude!

I am sorry I missed this yesterday. Now I'm curious who my muse is... Excuse me, I have some introspection to do...
ReplyDeletePern sounds so nice and a lot of fun to be with! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteChampagne would be perfect for this party!
Great post!
Heather
I had to laugh at the thought of playing Twister in a long dress. What a fun post and now I want to party with you and your muse. :D
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I don't think I have a muse that I'm consciously aware of.
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa,
ReplyDeleteYes, I know, I've been missing in action. You have quite a variety of muse, Lisa. All unique and no doubt, parts of your wonderful personality.
I don't have a muse. However, a certain Jack Russell dog has me as her muse. How surreal is that..
Gary :)
You and your muse sound like a lot of fun. I love that she is not tied down and can choose her name as she feels it fits.
