First Wednesday IWSG and Hello April!

Oh no I'm late. This is my state of life in April! But whenever I start to throw a pity party I remember this sage, and factual, phrase...

"There is always someone who has it worse than you, and better than you, someone uglier than you, someone prettier than you, someone you envy and someone you pity."

This is my motto. Helps me pull myself together, helps me become much more productive.
Think on it, then get out there and, as the Eagles sing, "Do something."

This has been a post for the IWSG, the Insecure Writer's Support Group, which can be found at IWSG and on Facebook at IWSG-FB. Please visit and leave comments on the other blogs participating (of which many will get hundreds of comments, while others will only get a few...)

Good luck to all those participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge this month!

A huge thank you to our co-hosts this month,  Megan Morgan, Chris Votey, Viola Fury, Christine Rains, Madeline Mora-Summonte, L.G. Keltner, Rachna Chhabria, and Patricia Lynne!

Have a great first Wednesday of April!

  2. And sometimes we have to look back and see what we've accomplished and celebrate it. We are far more epic than we give ourselves credit.

  3. Very important to remember! We just have to be the best we can be ourselves. :)

  4. Your saying is, of course, exactly right. I only have to read the news to find out how wonderful my life is. And I'm so far into this life that comparing my physical attributes to others is useless. It is what it is. I am what I am.

  6. That's good to remember, especially when you're throwing a pity party for yourself. The world is very complex and intricate, and just because something isn't working today doesn't mean it won't later.

  7. Look back and count your blessings! There are so many. Let them inspire you to move forward:)

  10. Hi Lisa - we sometimes need to change direction, make a decision and get on with things ... no pity party allowed ... needs must .. and always look on the bright side - life is easier!

So right ... see you anon - cheers Hilary

  11. Something I learned in studying Tarot is that life is not unique. Your story has been told before. Many of the circumstances are different, but of the trillions of people that has ever existed, your story is not a new one.

It doesn't mean you aren't a great person, but it allows you to understand that you are not so alone in this world, and your problems are not so drastic and may have a solution as well. It's important to keep people in your life.

Great motto! One of my favorites is the Nike slogan: "Just do it."
