Welcome to October and the winds of change...
First off, we have finally, after 16 months of it on the
market, sold our house! And there was much rejoicing! We are now the proud
owners of… no house! We are technically homeless, and if I must be homeless, I
prefer to do it this way, since my parents are being so very generous in allowing
us to stay with them until we get our feet back under us. I love my parents! It
still hasn’t quite sunk in all the way that the house now belongs to someone
else and we are free but I'm sure it will hit soon…
I must share, that though I must still work full time for
now, and since our situation is so up in the air, I found it wonderfully
comforting last night, that a day after the papers were signed, the first
thing I thought of while readying for sleep was how I want to fit writing time
into my overloaded schedule. Having the burden of an unsold house lifted from
my/our shoulders, knowing that we are now free to move on, put writing right up to number one on my list of things I must have back.
I don’t yet know how I will make this work, but now that I
am released and ready to move in a new direction, I’m eager to see where
writing will take me. I'm tired of that "block on my desk". I am ready to feel whole again…

Congratulations on selling your house. I can imagine that a huge rock fell from your shoulders. It is good to hear that because of that you were able to think about writing. Now it is on and upward.

Now that you're free from the stress of the house, you'll find it easier to write. As to fitting it in - busy people get things done. I get more done on days when my to-do list is overflowing than when there are only a couple things on it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa - so pleased you've sold the house and have somewhere to stay for now - good luck with it all ... but enjoy being with your parents - they'll be special times. Enjoy the writing you can fit it ... take care and all the best - Hilary
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome the papers are signed and you can breathe easy again. The rest will fall into place.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, I.B. Crazy about your writer's block and motivation mojo! Yeah, that's the I.B. Nosey way, all right!
ReplyDeleteAnd is "congrats" the suitable word for your homeless situation?
My Nosey bestest to your endeavors!
The stress being gone must be wonderful. Enjoy it. The rest will work out too.

It's amazing how many times you repeated the word 'free' in such a short post, all in regards to selling your house. It must be really liberating for you. Congrats on your newly-found freedom.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on selling your house. What a burden lifted off your shoulders. Interesting that you've moved in with your folks. Our son & family lived with us for 2 months this summer as they searched for a home. It was a wonderfully bonding experience. I hope yours is, too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on selling the house!
ReplyDeleteThat's one less thing to worry about. Now you can eliminate that 'block' sitting on your desk...
Happy October, Lisa!
I love that motivation poster--that is me in so many areas. Congrats on finally selling your house and hopefully you can get back to writing now.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on selling your house! I have an app on my phone so I can write on the go- maybe that would help you keep writing? Though, the tiny keyboard is a bother. I'd love to have a small, highly portable laptop...something small enough to fit in my purse but with a standard keyboard.
